If ever a game didn't need a half time break this was it. With Yeovil absolutely battering their Championship visitors the referee's whistle was the last thing Gary Johnson and his men would have wanted.
The game as a whole had started rather tamely with Millwall having a fair bit of early possession. But it wasn't all Millwall with Jevons getting close to an Amankwaah cross.
Lee Johnson also went close in the early minutes as did Terry Skiverton with a header.

Probably the best early chance though fell to Pablo Bastianini who again tried one of his lobs (a la David Beckham) from the half way line which Marshall just managed to palm away for a corner.
Sooner or later Pablo is going to score with one of these long shots but sadly it wasn't tonight.
As the half wore on though Millwall were starting to go into their shell allowing Yeovil to boss the game more and more.

Nathan Jones was probing well from midfield as was Lee Johnson and Darren Way and with debutant Alejandrio Melono venturing further up field as the game wore on, it was Yeovil calling all the shots.
Bastianini shot straight at the keeper in the 35th. minute then a couple of minutes later Johnson had a great shot from 30 yards.
It was all Yeovil but you felt as half time approached that if they couldn't score now when in so much control they may live to regret it.
As the half drew to a close Bastianini and Lee Johnson combined well but Johnson's shot was straight at the keeper.
So it was goalless at half time but what a great display by Yeovil which belied the difference in league positions.

Unfortunately for Yeovil they couldn't quite start off as they had finished the first half and within two minutes some slack marking allowed Alan Dunne to sidefoot past Weale from close in with the Yeovil defence all at sea.

Not the sort of start the Glovers wanted after such a great first half and things got even worse when Asaba broke clear though looking well off side. As he went up for the bouncing ball with Weale he appeared to barge Weale in the chest allowing the ball to run free in the net.
The Yeovil keeper appealed to the ref, but he was having none of it and the goal stood.

Gary Johnson decided he needed to change things and brought on Matt Harrold for Kevin gall in the 56th. minute and almost immediately Jevons seized on a half chance to head just wide.

More bad luck for Yeovil followed in the 58th. minute when Barry Hayles burst through on goal beating Liam Fontaine to the ball and then going down like a dying swan.
Out came the red card and Fontaine was off but careful study of the video clearly shows Hayles pulled Fontaine back before he went down and Yeovil seem likely to appeal that dismissal.
To add to that Liam had at least two other defenders around him so the dismissal was pretty harsh.
MIB Mr.Russell was certainly making some bizarre decisions and when Efe Sodje, who had come on after Fontaine's sending off, was chopped down by Vincent he only showed the yellow card to the amazement of everybody in Huish Park.
Yeovil started to build up another head off steam despite the blows of the last fifteen minutes and with Jevons and Davies looking prominent you still felt Yeovil could come back.
Melono was pushing up to add his presence and the lack of a man didn't seem to be causing Yeovil that much of a problem.
In the 73rd. minute Yeovil had three shots from corners all tipped over by Marshall who was certainly earning his money and then Davies had a shot well saved as well.
With time running out Arron Davies finally scored for Yeovil after some good build up play by Jevons and Johnson but was it too little too late.
As shots and crosses rained in nothing would fall for Yeovil and with Millwall indulging in blatant time wasting it just wasn't going to Yeovil's night.
But they tried, Oh how they tried, and every player can hold his head after a great performance that certainly deserved more.
