Another League One game for Yeovil Town, and another fantastic arena in the Galpharm Stadium from which to play.

There was a good atmosphere too, with both sets of supporters anticipating fighting displays from their respective teams as they looked to play themselves back up the table and into contention for the play-off places.

Coming into the match Russell Slade made just one change from the side that drew with Northampton Town last Tuesday, bringing Arron Davies in on the right of midfield, with Wayne Gary dropping to the bench.

The line-up was then Steve Mildenhall in goal, operating behind a flat back four of Terry Skiverton, Terrell Forbes, Nathan Jones and Mark Lynch.

In midfield Paul Terry took up his position in the anchor role, with JP Kalala in the holding position, and Chris Cohen in attack.

Arron Davies as stated was on the right wing and Lee Morris on the left, with both pushing up where required to support the lone striker Marcus Stewart.

Yeovil got the game off to its start and almost immediately scored!

terrell

Nathan Jones played a long ball right into the heart of the Terriers attack to Marcus Steward on the right of the box.

He then angled it over to Lee Morris on the left, who sliding in, hit his shot inches wide.

In what was already an end-to-end game, Huddersfield fed the ball to Danny Schofield in the very next attack to hit in a great shot that beat Mildenhall, but again went just wide.

All the stadium supporters were living on their wits!

Both teams were passing the ball about well, and with both playing some good attacking football in what was developing into an open an entertaining game, both sides were  looking hungry for goals.

Huddersfield were trying to stamp their authority on the proceedings by hitting the Glovers defence hard, demonstrating this well on 8 minutes when Abbott hit in a great lob that went close.

Yeovil were always in it though, and on 13 minutes they at last managed to convert their good play into a goal when Lee Morris scored a goal of great quality.

Marcus Stewart received the ball from the throw in, and taking the merest of touches sent a first time ball over to Morris just inside the box.

He still had it all to do though, and did it well as he rounded a defender then the 'keeper to hit the ball into the back of the net!  A little part of Somerset went into frenzy!  1-0!

The Glovers were stroking it about nicely now, and dominating the play with some great football.  The home supporters were getting increasingly frustrated with their side's inability to cope with Yeovil's attacks.

Chris Cohen went close on 18 minutes with a wonderfully angled shot from the left of the box.  The ball came back out to Nathan Jones who following through, hitting his shot over the bar.

The home side were always dangerous though, and proved this well on 27 minutes when they managed to equalise.

A long ball came in and was nodded down to Hudson to brilliantly volley home from 20 yards.  Steve Mildenhall stood no chance!  1-1.

In what was now a highly competitive game Lee Morris went close minutes later with a great shot from just inside the box, then JP Kalala really tested Glennon in the Terriers goal with a lovely volley from 5 yards.

But still the game stood at 1-1, this despite the fact that JP had yet another effort denied by Glennon as he hit a powerful ball in from just inside the box.

Then on 41 minutes, in yet another Yeovil attack Lee Morris received the ball in front of the home box.

He then laid it back beautifully to Arron Davies to send in a wonderful dipping half volley that went over the keeper, but hit the post, bouncing down on the line, but unfortunately not in the goal.

A great effort though, and so close.

So as the teams went in at half time, the 1-1 score line was a fair reflection of the game - a match of great end to end and highly entertaining football, with the Glovers definitely worthy of their contribution to the game.

Half Time - Huddersfield Town: 1  Yeovil Town: 1

Coming into the new half the Gaffer hade an immediate change, bringing off goal scorer Lee Morris, with the more than capable Wayne Gray coming onto the right of midfield from the bench.

You can only assume that Lee had picked up a knock in the opening 45 minutes.

As for the game itself, the proceedings carried on from where they had left off at the end of the first half, with both sides attacking well.

The Glovers were in confident mood though, and stroking the ball around nicely, so when they took the lead again on 50 minutes it was well deserved!

Marcus Stewart, who was having a brilliant game, received the ball in the final third and sent a great pass on to Arron Davies to burst his way into the box and blast the it past the stranded Glennon. 2-1.

The Huddersfield supporters were getting increasingly frustrated with their team, and rightly so - Yeovil were stifling them at ever opportunity!

Despite Andy Booth going reasonably close on 63 minutes, the Glovers were by far the better side and playing the better football.

Huddersfield were still having their moments though, and on 63 minutes they managed to convert one of these into an equalizing goal, when Gary Taylor-Fletcher managed to put the ball into the back of the net.

In a good move, Danny Schofield bombed his way down the right wing, got in behind the Glovers defence to send in a fine cross for Taylor-Fletcher to head in from close range. 2-2.

The match was more even now, but even so, the Glovers seemed capable of scoring in a game that definitely had more goals left in it.

On 73 minutes Yeovil were awarded a corner.

Cohen took it and swung it in nicely to Skiverton to get in an initial header.

The ball deflected back to him though, but his resulting shot went just wide.

Another goal was on the way though, and it duly came on 76 minutes when the ball was played to Wayne Gray on the right.

arron

The former Southend man sprinted his way down the flank, got in behind the last defender to cross it in for Chris Cohen to bang in from 18 yards. 3-2.

The Glovers were definitely worthy of their lead and with the clock ticking fast, hopefully the eventual three points too.

The Terriers were doing their best to get back on terms, with both Schofeld and Collins going close, but the Glovers held strong.

The lads fought for every ball, made every interception and gave the home side not a second on the ball.

It was great to watch as they slowly edged their way to a famous victory, eagerly cheered on by their ever enthusiastic 253 supporters.

And when the referee did eventually blew his whistle for the end of the game, Somerset sprang to its feet in excited celebration.

And what a game! Fast moving, flowing and attacking football, played in the best of Yeovil's tradition!

Great to watch and well worth the journey all the way up to Yorkshire.

Glovers man of the match. Every last man, boy and Kalala of them!

A great team performance.
