The Glovers were at Huish Park for the second time in a week looking to add a further three points to the six gained in their previous two encounters.
And in keeping with a winning formula, Russell Slade kept faith with the line-up who had brought him these valuable points.
This saw Steve Mildenhall in goal, covered by a back four or Mark Lynch, Terry Skiverton, Terrell Forbes and Nathan Jones.

The midfield kept with the five-man formation, with Paul Terry playing just in front of the defence, Jean-Paul Kalala holding and Chris Cohen in attack.
Arron Davies and Lee Morris continued on the wings, pushing up whenever possible to support the ever impressive Marcus Stewart up front.
Huish Park filled with anticipation and the action got under way to a quick start, with both teams looking to make an early impression.
For Yeovil Chris Cohen, Lee Morris, JP Kalala, and Marcus Stewart were looking sharp right from the off.In fact it was Cohen who made a good run through the midfield, laying the ball off to Morris for an early chance.

Two minutes later though, Marcus Stewart went one better, when he scored. And what a cracker!
Receiving the ball in the final third, Nathan Jones sent a nice simple pass to Stewart, who from just outside of the box let rip, with Henderson in the Brighton goal standing no chance as the ball simply flew past him and into the back of the net.
Huish Park went barmy!Superb!1-0
Yeovil had the bit between their teeth now as they attacked well, looking for more blood.
However, they had to sadly do it without the services of Lee Morris who had to come off with a groin injury on 10 minutes, to be replaced by Wayne Gray.

The lads were looking more and more lively now, and in the 17th minute Kalala won a great ball in the centre of midfield, laying it off to Arron Davies on the right.
A bit of trickery later and the ball was passed to Chrissie Cohen in the centre to let off a firecracker from just outside the box that went inches over the bar.Great effort and so close!
The Glovers still had to be mindful of the potential of Brighton's attack, with Hammond, Santos and Cox getting into some good positions, and Alex Revell going close with a good effort on 23 minutes.
The Glovers defended by attack though, and did so well, holding most of the possession, with Kalala, Jones, Gray, Cohen, Stewart and Davies taking an increasing hold on the game.

As we moved into the final ten minutes of the half the Seagulls started to see a bit more of the ball and attacked with more fluidity.
Yeovil's defence held firm though, with Mildenhall making a couple of good saves, and the Skiverton / Forbes combination bang on form.
It wasn't what you'd call real pressure from the visitors, but even so, it was still an increased threat, and one to be wary of as the game approached half time.
Yeovil were still holding the better of the possession, and looking quite comfortable, and well worthy of going in at the break holding the advantage.

Kerry Mayo did try and change this scenario though, and on 44 minutes sent in a powerful shot from 20 yards out on the left side which brought an excellent diving save from Steve Mildenhall.
The Westland sighed with relief, and with the whistle going a few minutes later the Glovers did indeed go in at the beak a goal to the good, and deservedly so.
They had perhaps been sitting a little too deep in those final minutes, but the advantage was still justified and a good boost for what all of Somerset hoped would be a victorious second period.
Half Time - Yeovil Town: 1 Brighton & Hove Albion: 0
The new half got off to a lively start, with the visitors having an extra spring in the step, attacking the Yeovil defence with more force and speed.

The Glovers defence coped well, and slowly started to play themselves into attack with the likes of Cohen, Gray, Terry and Jones exerting their influence.
In essence the game had become a little scrappy, and with it Brighton were still the better of the two sides, though not really showing much prowess in front of goal.

And when they did play the ball anywhere near the Glovers' box, Mildenhall was on hand to make a clean and confident catch, so there never really seemed to be much danger.
Things did start to happen though for Yeovil by the 60th minute as they at last started go get the ball more into the Brighton half, with Davies, Terry, Stewart and Gray seeing plenty of it, but they still didn't really take a grip on the proceedings.
As the game approached the 70th minute it was a rather untidy affair, with play mainly in the midfield, and little or no goalmouth action.

In that 70th minute though, a well worked move saw the ball played into the Brighton box, with Cohen and Gray in pursuit.George Santos was on for Brighton to scoop the ball over his own goal and to safety.
This seemed to gee Yeovil up a bit, with some better attacks coming in that saw Gray, Cohen and Stewart a lot busier.

But, In the 75th minute Brighton midfielder Dean Hammond forced Mildenhall to make a good block, denying him a fine chance to pull his side even.
Two minutes later, Paul Terry won the ball in midfield for Yeovil and sent it to Davies, who pressed forward a few yards and laid it off nicely to Nathan Jones to shoot from distance, with Henderson saving.
As the game moved into its final ten minutes the visitors started to increase the pressure a bit, pushing men forward in numbers.

This of course gave the Glovers licence to hit them on the break, and that's just what they did with devastating effect on 82 minutes when the lead was doubled, and the game made safe.
In a wonderfully worked move, Paul Terry gathered the ball in midfield and sent it to Chris Cohen to power his way through the Brighton midfield and defence at speed.
Having beaten a number of defenders, he laid the ball of wonderfully to Wayne Gray coming in from the right who made no mistake from 10 yards.
Huish Park hugged in celebration. The lads were home and dry!2-0!

The Glovers kept up the attacks in the final few minutes, but despite a great long range effort from Stewart that went just wide, they couldn't add to their tally.
Two goals were more than enough in the end as Russell Slade's side swept to their third successive victory, and one yet again well deserved as the lads edged their way up to 5th in the table.
The performance was probably not up there with those seen in the previous three or four games, but in the end it was good enough, and it was well ground out and worthy of a team who are fighting for a top six finish.
