The Glovers ended their league season with a fine 2-0 win over Gillingham at the Priestfield Stadium this this weekend.
With a fifth place assured, Russell Slade took the opportunity of resting a number of his key personnel for this match, allowing other members of the squad to have a run out.

Mark Lynch came in at right back for his first start since his knee operation, with Andy Lindegaard switching over to the left.
JP Kalala also returned to the line-up, partnering Anthony Barry in centre midfield, with Ishmael Welsh on the left flank and Martin Brittain on the right.
With a host of youngsters on the bench, Tom Clarke came in for his full debut, playing up front alongside Wayne Gray.

Although they didn't have a lot to play for, the Glovers still put in a good performance, with some entertaining and well worked attacks - Clarke, Welsh and Gray all looking sharp and knocking the ball about nicely.
The defence was also looking comfortable and solid, with Lynch and Lindegaard also getting forward to good affect.

The Yeovil midfield were controlling the game well, but few chances were being created, although on six minutes Gray received the ball in the box, and laid it back for Lynch to try his luck from 18 yards, but the ball deflected away.
The Gills were certainly in the game too, with Danny Spiller and Dean McDonald seeing a lot of the ball, but in reality it was mainly Yeovil.
Chorley did have a decent chance on 14 minutes when he headed wide of the right side post, but Mildenhall rarely looked like being beaten.

As the half continued, Yeovil continued to get forward well, but were failing to get enough balls into the box for the lively looking Gray.
Gillingham started to see a lot more of the ball in the final 15 minutes, and finished the half well, with plenty of possession, and some opportunities on goal.

Mark Bently ran down the right on 29 minutes to get in a low cross for Spiller to volley over the bar, with him sending in a powerful 25-yard shot a few minutes later that brought the best out of Mildenhall.
Forbes was doing well in the centre of defence, and it was he who denied Ben Chorley on 39 minutes with an excellent blockage, and with it, the half ended goalless.

The re-start saw the game continue in much the same vein, with both sides continuing to attack, and Yeovil having the better of the game.
Webb came on for Clarke on 57 minutes in an attempt to beef up the attack, and within five minutes Yeovil had taken a deserved lead when JP Kalala received the ball on the edge of the box and curled it wonderfully into the right hand corner.1-0

The Glovers were on a high now, and just five minutes later Anthony Barry split the Gills defence apart with a lovely ball to Gray just outside the box.
The former Southend man then powered his way in and hit a lovely shot over the diving keeper from 10-yards into the back of the net to put the Glovers into a very commanding position. 2-0.

That was the game effectively over, and with the supporters singing their hearts out they now cruised to a comfortable victory.
The Gills still showed some spirited play though, with Mildenhall making a good two handed save from a powerful 35-yard shot from Stone on 74 minutes, and Clint Easton chipping the ball in for Spiller to go close at the far post three minutes later.

At the other end Wayne Gray did well under pressure from Chorley to get in a good shot from just inside the box, that the 'keeper just got a hand to.
A few minutes later Barry received the ball from a Brittain corner, and chipped it into the box from midfield for Lynch to go close with a diving header that went inches over the bar.

A minute later the inspired Gray powered his way into the box and was unlucky to shoot wide as Yeovil ended the match with a flurry.

The game had proved a useful exercise for Russell Slade, with many of his fringe players having good run outs and proving that should they be required, they will be more than capable of doing a job in the play-offs.
It had been a good performance from the lads and as the supporters chanted Russell Slade's name at the end, they did so looking forward to a play-off semi final with Nottingham Forest.
