Only the rather harsh sending off of Marcus Stewart late in the game spoilt a Super Sunday for the Glovers as they recorded their third win on the bounce with this solid 2-1 victory against Doncaster Rovers at The Keepmoat yesterday.
The win was all the more important when taking into account the fact that Lloyd Owusu, Scott Guyett, Justin Cochrane and Terry Skiverton had all been hit by a stomach bug that has ravaged staff at the club over the last few days.

With his numbers again stretched Russell Slade was forced to play Scott Guyett at the heart of the defence despite the effects of the bug, while Skiverton travelled up to the match on the Sunday dropping back to the bench.
Yeovil started the match with Marcus Stewart dropping back into a spot behind the striker to match Rovers' more numerically challenged midfield.

In a competitive start things started well for Yeovil but it was Doncaster who had the first real chance on goal when Roberts put his shot on goal just wide.
Marcus Stewart received an unusual yellow card following a late tackle on Stock but can have had no complaints as far as the referee was concerned as he was most definitely late.

Doncaster were moving the ball around quickly which took the Glovers a while to adapt to and in the 22nd minute Woods shot straight at Mildenhall.
Yeovil hit back ten minutes later when Gary Dempsey and James Walker worked a good combination of passes that set up Darren Way but he was thwarted by Neil Sullivan in the Rovers goal.

In the 38th. minute Yeovil finally went ahead when Darren Way picked up a pass from James Walker and shot first time for the goal.
The ball deflected off defender Roberts and ballooned into the net completely deceiving Sullivan.

It was Yeovil first real chance and with former Yeovil favourite Adam Lockwood still as commanding as ever at the back it was always going to take a bit of luck for Yeovil to break through.

The second half opened with a real onslaught from the home side and Mark Wilson was the first to have a really significant chance but he blazed high over the bar much to The Glovers relief.

Yeovil were hanging in well though, despite pressure from Doncaster, and reinforced the troops with fresh legs when Anthony Barry came on to replace Zoltan Stieber after a nasty tackle had seen the Hungarian down for a while.

Terry Skiverton was also brought on to replace Gary Dempsey and Yeovil thought they had made the game secure when in the 78th. minute Marcus Stewart scored a typical Stewart goal displaying all his experience and quality.

James Walker won a free kick on the edge of the area. Anthony Barry took the kick which Stewart met with the finesse of a ballet dancer as he stooped to head home a memorable goal.

With the game seemingly won Stewart's afternoon was ruined when the referee adjudged a sliding tackle on Green as a foul, although all the players around felt Stewart got the ball first.
Out came a second yellow card and Stewart was off.

With minutes ticking by Price got the ball in the net only to be adjudged offside to test Yeovil nerves but Rovers did get a late consolation goal when the ball was pushed across the box and got a touch off Skiverton before entering the net.

Fortunately for Yeovil there was to be no further late drama and they hung on for a creditable third win on the bounce, which will send them to Brisbane Road next weekend in good heart before the two home matches against Swindon and Brighton.
