The Glovers moved up to fourth in the table this afternoon after a good 1-0 win over their West Country rivals Swindon Town at the County Ground.

Lloyd Owusu grabbed the all-important goal in the 78th minute, with his side taking the points after a determined and resilient performance.

Coming into the game. Russell Slade made just on change from the side that beat Shrewsbury in the Johnstone's Paint Trophy, bringing Matty Rose back in the line-up after he sat on the bench during that midweek game with a slight injury

.Anthony Barry

Craig Alcock dropped to the bench, and was joined by the fit again Terry Skiverton, as well as Jerahl Hughes who had recovered from a groin injury.

It was a largely frustrating first half for Yeovil, in what was an often scrappy game, with the home side having the better of the play, missing a number of opportunities to go ahead.

The Glovers put in a fine defensive display though, with both Scott Guyett and Terrell Forbes on top form.

Ritchie

Matty Rose also made a number of vital interceptions as his team weathered several periods of pressure from the home side.

Yeovil were not without their chances, and after Stewart was brought down 25 yards out from the Swindon goal in the fourth minute, Anthony sent a decent free kick that went just over the bar.

Terrell

Peacock, Roberts and Pook were seeing plenty of the ball for Swindon, but with Warne, Stewart, Ritchie Jones and Barry all looking sharp for Yeovil, the teams were cancelling each other out much of the time.

Swindon were gathering pace though, and started to put the Glovers under pressure, but the defence played it tight, with Steve Mildenhall his usual confident self.

Ritchie

Yeovil were finding it hard to hold on to any prolonged possession, with their game often not flowing in it's usual manner.

Both teams were getting balls into the box, but not many chances were being created, although Christian Roberts did manage to get in a header on 33 minutes from a long throw, but Mildenhall was untroubled and gathered easily.

Warne

Michael Pook went close on 34 minutes, but his side's best chance came four minutes later when Roberts cut inside two or three Yeovil defenders to fire in a shot from just outside the box, Mildenhall diving to his left to save well.

Swindon upped the pressure towards the break, but apart from a 25-yard Jamie Vincent shot that went just wide of Mildenhall's far post, the Glovers rarely looked like conceding.

Guyett

Yeovil looked a lot brighter in the second half, with Peltier, Ritchie Jones, Barry, Stewart and Warne enjoying some good possession, with the latter shooting just wide after the restart.

Guyett sent a powerful header over the bar from just inside the box on 53 minutes, but with Swindon still holding good possession, this match was wide open.

The Robins added Simon Cox and Jon-Paul McGovern on 57 minutes and this seemed to add an extra spark to their play as they put on the pressure again, but Yeovil were in determined mood and kept them at bay, also continuing to work on their own attacking game.

Owusu

This paid off well when they took the lead on 77 minutes, and it was that man Lloyd Owusu who again sent in the sucker punch for his fourth goal of the season.

Winning a corner on the left hand side, Ritchie Jones sent the ball into the heart of the box for Owusu to rise and head the ball into the back of the net from 5 yards. 1-0.

Marcus

This sparked the home side back into life as they now attacked with force looking to get something from the game.

McGovern hit a shot badly over the bar from a Zaaboub cross on 83 minutes, with the same player missing out again four minutes later with a powerful shot from the left side of the box that deflected out wide.

The Glovers were looking comfortable in their lead though, and content to soak up the pressure, and in the end hung on well to take the points.
