Old rivalries were renewed this afternoon as Nottingham Forest travelled to Huish Park for the first time since the League One play-off semi-finals in May.
Yeovil Town manager Russell Slade made one change to the starting line-up that took three points at Brighton and Hove Albion last week, with Southampton loanee Simon Gillett dropping to the bench and making way for Matty Rose.

Nottingham Forest came into the game boasting an impressive recent vein of form, with former Glover Chris Cohen beginning the game in midfield following his summer move to the former European champions.
With both teams keen to make an early impact it was the hosts who came closest to making early in-roads after only four minutes.

Paul Warne's persistency on the left side of the penalty box forced an error from Forest centre back Wes Morgan.
The former Oldham marksman advanced on goal, firing his shot across the face of the target, close enough to keep visiting shot-stopper Paul Smith interested.
Clean-cut chances in the opening 20 minutes were few and far between, with both sides showing good attacking intuition but coming against solid, well-organised defences.

Smith was marginally the busier of the two 'keepers and Forest's players were hard and committed in the tackle.
On 21 minutes Yeovil were given a let-off when Grant Holt headed wide after a deep cross from the right.

Moments later Holt found himself alone with the ball at his feet in the 18-yard-box but his left-footed strike lacked power and was easily gathered by Yeovil's Romain Larrieu.
With the game suddenly displaying a more urgent tempo Smith's hands were left stinging in the Forest goal as he clawed away a rasping effort from Marcus Stewart.
In the space of six minutes both sides could have found themselves ahead, but the score remained level.

After 36 minutes the Glovers demonstrated their attacking potential, sneaking through the Nottingham Forest defence with a series of neat flicks from Lee Peltier and Stewart.
The ex-Sunderland striker's through-ball to Lloyd Owusu tempted Smith off his line but the giant Ghanian could only stab the ball past an out-stretched hand for a goal kick.

As the first half entered injury time Yeovil Town were unable to make the most of sleepy Forest defending as Matty Rose lashed wide from distance following some good work from Stewart.
The visitors replied by taking the ball to the other end of the pitch with a brave head from Yeovil captain Terry Skiverton blocking a strong shot before referee Andy Penn blew for half time.
HALF TIME 0-0
Skipper Skiverton failed to return for the second half, with Ritchie Jones taking his place. Rose reverted to eentreback, while Manchester Utd loanee Jones played on the right of midfield and Peltier slotted into central midfield.

The substitution would prove to be pivotal with the Glovers defence clearly missing Skiverton's presence.
With 52 of the minutes Nathan Jones found himself with space opening up in front of him as he cut in from the left.
However, a shot from 25 yards with his weaker right foot left Smith untroubled.

The Glovers flew out of the traps for the second period and nearly had their hard work rewarded six minutes before the hour mark.
An Anthony Barry corner was powerfully met by the head Scott Guyett only to be headed off the line by Forest striker Junior Agogo on the post.

However, against the run of play, Forest found themselves one up a minute later as Yeovil were found defensively wanting.
A long cross from Kelvin Wilson picked out Luke Chambers who did well to fend off his marker and nod the ball into the net.
With Slade's team now on the back foot and Huish Park quiet Forest poured forward.

After 63 minutes Agogo unleashed his first meaningful shot of the day, which was palmed away by Larrieu.
The Glovers looked to fight back but were made to look uncomfortable at the back as Forest strove to close the game off as a contest.
As the half wore on Yeovil continued to work hard in attack but struggled to break down a resilient Nottingham Forest unit, with the home team increasingly running out of ideas.
This resilience was rewarded on 79 minutes with an instinctive second that made the most of a glaring defensive error from Guyett.

With time on the ball and no apparent danger the Australian defender struck the ball against Agogo. From here on in there would be only one winner for the loose ball and the pacy striker lobbed it over a stranded Larrieu from 35 yards.
Two became three five minutes later when Yeovil were again caught napping at the back. The defensive back four stood statuesque as substitute Kris Commons waltzed past to latch on to a through-ball, dinking it over Larrieu stood in no-man's land and the ball bounced in off the crossbar.
Forest were now rampant with their strong travelling following enjoying their trip to Somerset in the Copse Road End.

Yeovil Town's hard work in the first half was spoiled by three lapses in concentration during the second.
The removal of Skiverton in the half-time break made an impact that none of the 6,818 fans in the ground could have predicted as the players returned for the second period.
Colin Calderwood's men made the most of the chances presented to them, showing an unrelenting killer instinct.
Luton Town travel to Huish Park on Tuesday, leaving Russell Slade with only a few days to learn from the mistakes of today.
