Another late goal from Leeds United robbed Yeovil Town of a deserved point at Elland Road yesterday.
Fielding a team without 10 regulars Russell Slade's team battled hard and seemed to have been on their way to a well deserved point when Mark DeVries looping header beat a stranded Romain Larrieu.
It was rough justice on a Yeovil side that had battled for the entire 90 minutes but it showed that just one lapse of concentration can be lethal against a team like Leeds.
Having said that though, Leeds had not shown much in front of a twenty seven thousand crowd of vociferous Yorkshiremen baying for blood at every moment.

Slade had again been disrupted by injuries and a late withdrawal of Lee Peltier had done nothing for his team selection.
Playing a 4-5-1 formation Mark Lynch was recalled at right back while new loan signing Kevin Betsy came in on the right of midfield with Paul Warne out on the left.

Yeovil had a great chance to rock Elland Road as early as the seventh minute when an Anthony Barry free kick found Matty Rose but his shot was ineffective in front of goal.
Anthony Barry was again in the thick of the action in the 19th. minute when he was sent through by Paul Warne. It was a clear chance but Barry shot straight at United keeper Ankergren.

The much vaunted Leeds attack was barely seen as the Yeovil defence held firm with sterling performances from the two central defenders Guyett and Forbes.
The Yorkshire crowd were getting restless as Yeovil continued to hold firm and they had their giant keeper to thank again late in the first half when he pushed a great shot from Paul Warne around the post.

Leeds had obviously had a verbal tongue lashing from manager Dennis Wise for their start to the second half showed more conviction and Jermaine Beckford tested Romain Larrieu with a blistering shot early on.
The consistency though of Yeovil's defending was restricting Leeds to shots from distance with Clapham, and Hughes both failing to test Larrieu.
Warne tried his luck with a great shot on the counter attack from 20 yards but it went just over the bar.

Leeds will claim that had a justifiable penalty claim on 67 minutes when Mark Lynch made contact with a Hughes shot on the arm but referee Taylor waved away the claim.
Kevin Betsy was having a far more influential second period, giving Jamie Clapham a torrid time.

One foraging run got him behind the home defence where he was able to pick out Marcus Stewart with a pinpoint pass, but the seasoned striker somehow managed to put his shot just wide with the goal gapping in front of him.
With the clock ticking down Dennis Wise made his last throw of the dice when he threw on De Vries and Tore Andre Flo to batter the Yeovil defence.
With the pressure mounting Kandol forced a good save from Larrieu but still Yeovil held out.

A draw was looking most likely until the 89th. minute when Leeds once again scored a late goal.
Douglas found De Vries from the left and he jumped highest to send a header over a stranded Larrieu to break Yeovil's hearts.

Even then Yeovil weren't done as Domoraud won the ball in midfield and set up a chance for Owusu but his header was just wide from Barry's cross.

Football can be a cruel game and as a tired Yeovil trudged off the field the way the Leeds players celebrated showed how close they had come to losing their 100% home record.

For Slade and his men though they can take comfort from a brilliant defensive performance and now try to rebuild confidence for the Johnson's Paint Trophy match at Edgar Street on Tuesday.
