Lloyd Owusu grabbed a dramatic injury time winner for Yeovil Town this afternoon at Sixfields, as the Glovers moved up to sixth in the table, after a good 2-1 win over Northampton Town.
Justin Cochrane initially gave Yeovil the lead on 25 minutes, but the home side came back to equalise six minutes later through Paul Hubertz, before Owusu sent the Yeovil support into raptures with his late winner.

Looking at the line-up, Russell Slade made just one change from the team that beat Port Vale last week, bringing Paul Warne onto the right wing in place of Marvin Williams who dropped to the bench.
Nathan Jones had returned from injury, but couldn't dislodge Matty Rose from the left back position, so like Williams he had to start the game from the dugout.

Having had the better of the play in the second half, Northampton were perhaps unfortunate not to have got something from the game, but a good performance from Yeovil in the first period gave them every chance of taking the points.
Despite the searing heat, the first half was played at a high tempo, with the Cobblers putting in all the early attacks, with Bradley Johnson and Andy Kirk both going close in the first five minutes.

The Glovers were having good possession themselves, with Lloyd Owusu having a decent chance in the 7th minute when he headed over the bar from a Lee Peltier free kick.
This gave Yeovil the boost they needed, and they now enjoyed a greater degree of the attacks, with the crowd enjoying an end-to-end affair.

And as the minutes ticked by the Glovers slowly eased their way on top, with Peltier, Stewart, Owusu and Ritchie Jones seeing plenty of the ball, and the wide players getting some good balls into the box.

The football was often very good to watch, and when they took the lead on 26 minutes, it was fully deserved - Justin Cochran grabbing his second goal in as many games when he received the ball from Marcus Stewart just inside the box to blast it in from 8 yards. 1-0.

The Glovers took control of the game now, stroking the ball through midfield, looking comfortable in their lead.
It was then perhaps a surprise when the home side came back with an equalising goal on 32 minutes when Poul Hubertz advanced into the box, and after getting the better of Scott Guyett shot past Mildenhall from five yards. 1-1.

Both sets of supporters showed their noisy appreciation, as the teams continued to attack in what was turning out to be a highly entertaining game.
Northampton had the better chances to score, and it took two superb saves from Mildenhall to keep his side in the game - the first a great reaction save from a close range Andy Kirk shot on 38 minutes, and the other when he tipped the ball over the bar from a close range Hubertz header right on half time.

The Cobblers continued to put pressure on Yeovil early in the second period, but Russell Slade's men soon came back with some good moves themselves.
The searing temperatures had taken their toll though, with the game slowing down.

Opportunities were harder to come by as both defences tightened up
However, substitute Marvin Williams had a reasonable chance when he was played into the box on 55 minutes, but his weak shot was easily gathered by Mark Bunn.

Andy Holt went close for the Cobblers on 59 minutes, and the home side looked to finish strongly.
Russell Slade seemed to sense this and introduced Anthony Barry. This allowed his team to move from a diamond formation to 4-4-2, allowing Stuart to move to a more forward position.

As the game moved in to the final ten minutes a draw seemed likely, although Northampton substitute Colin Larkin could have scored twice in the final minutes, but was first denied in the box by an inspired mid air interception my Forbes, and then by the post as he beat Mildenhall on 88 minutes with a good angled shot.

Cochrane went close with a diving header at the death, but then well into injury time Barry took the ball past his marker to swing it into the box for Owusu to fire it in from 8 yards, and the Glovers took three points back to Somerset.

Final score - Northampton Town: 1 Yeovil Town: 2
