It's All Down To Aidan
Russell Slade has confirmed this morning that Aidan Downes is set to sign for the Glovers on July 1st.
The deal will see Aidan sign a two year contract, which will secure the ex Everton Striker's services until the end of the 2009/2010 Season.
Downes, 19 quickly impressed both the management team and fans during his short time at Huish Park, especially at the Liberty Stadium where he scored a vital goal against League One Champions Swansea City, which in turn guranteed safety in League One for the Glovers.
Aidan who joined Everton's Academy in 2005 from Tolka Rovers, progressed through the Youth set up until he suffered an injury at the end of the 2005/2006 Season.
Once he had recovered from his injury, Aidan recieved International call ups for the Republic of Ireland U19's squad and made his debut for the Republic of Ireland U21's last October in a friendly against Sweden.
Aidan scored in the 71st minute for his home country, which saw them beat their Swedish counterparts 3-2.
He joined Yeovil on loan back in March, making a total of five appearances and scoring one goal.

"He made a good start with us and topped that off with a great goal against Swansea.
"I hope thats the first of many for Yeovil."
