Huish Park is hosting a day of international culture this Sunday (27th) , with members of Yeovil's international community laying on a festival of football, ethnic cuisine, as well as music and dance.

The Polish, Filipino, Portuguese, African and Chinese communities will be represented on the day, and there should be plenty to appeal to people of all nationalities.

A mini soccer tournament will take place on the Astro Turf, with various youth teams playing throughout the afternoon, hoping to entertain the public as they soak up what should be a great atmosphere on the day.

Stalls will be in operation giving away free samples of cuisine from the countries represented at the event.

There will also be various local businesses selling their wares, if the public wish to take any food home with them.

The event organisers will erect a stage, and this will house the different groups entertaining the public with dancing and singing from their countries, so it should prove to be a great day.

The Hospitality Marquee will be open throughout the day, as will the  'Glovers On A Roll' food outlet, so there will be plenty for all in what is hoped will become a popular annual event for people of all cultures and nationalities.

The day kicks off at 10.00am and will run well into the afternoon, with anyone welcome to come along, take a look, and join in as well.

Speaking this afternoon, one of the event organisers Rafal Skarbek was hoping for a good turnout.

"It should be quite a day," he said.

"I feel that it will be a great opportunity for all the different cultures in the area to come closer, whilst enjoying some good food, music and of course football.

"So come along and enjoy what we have on offer. Everyone is welcome!"
