Steve Mildenhall became Russell Slade's first major Yeovil Town signing when he joined the club in June 2006, following his former manager from Grimsby Town.

The 6ft 4ins goalkeeper started his career as a trainee with his home town club Swindon Town, where having broken into the first team he went on to make a total of 38 appearances.

He also had brief loan spells at Gloucester and Salisbury during his five-year spell at the County Ground, before moving to Notts County in June 2001 for a fee of £150,000.

Steve Stayed at Meadow Lane for three and a half years and made 90 appearances for the club.

During this time he became a major talking point when he did a 'Pat Jennings' by scoring from a goal kick against Mansfield Town during his side's 4-3 win over the Stags in the League Cup.

Steve eventually moved on to Oldham Athletic in December 2004, but stayed only six months, appearing just 6 times, before signing for Grimsby on a free in June 2005.

He did well under Russell Slade at Blundell Park, and was one of the main reasons for the Mariners moving from a mid table side to one who came so close to promotion in 2006.

Steve always yearned for higher league football though, and with the Gaffer's departure from Blundell Park, Steve was quick to follow.

Steve Mildenhall is a big passionate and vocal goalkeeper who is an excellent shot stopper, and is playing at the peak of his career.

He is a quality player who has proved to be a rock in the Yeovil Town goal, and one who played a massive part in the success of last season.
