Stephen Maher signed for Yeovil Town from the Irish Youth Academy 'Home Farm' in the summer of 2006, and has made good progress since arriving at the club.
Stephen is a lively, tough tacking midfielder who has featured well for the reserves since arriving at the Huish Park, although he is yet to make an impact in the first team.
So far he has made just one appearance for the senior team, coming on as a substitute during the league game with Nottingham Forest at the City Ground in January 2007.
In an effort to continue with the player's development, Russell Slade sent Stephen out on loan to Shamrock Rovers in March 2007, where he spend the rest of the season.
He returned for pre-season training in July 2007 looking sharper and keener than ever, and went on to make a good account of himself during the subsequent friendly matches.
Though not the first choice for a place in the first team squad, Stephen continues to play a good role at the club, and looks to have a future ahead of him in the game.
